Roberto Fernandez
Funeral Services for Roberto Fernandez, 94, will be held Friday April 27, 2012 at Immaculate Conception Church in Sealy with Father Eric Pitre celebrating the funeral mass and rite of committal. Interment will follow in the Immaculate Conception Catholic Cemetery in Sealy. Serving as pallbearers will be his grandchildren Bobby Fernandez, Angel L. Fernandez, Osmarito Fernandez, and Edgarito Fernandez.
Roberto was born in Songo, Cuba to parents Domingo and Enedina (Boloy) Fernandez. He first worked in Guantanamo Bay on the U.S. base there. He then held the position of electrician in a sugar mill in Central Hermita, after his work there, he began his career as a rancher in the San Andre Hacienda until he retired at the age of 70. His hobbies included gardening, taking care of his animals, and spending time with his family. He will be remembered as a man of his convictions, great respect for his family and others and exceptional work ethic that he passed to his children and grandchildren. He had a great love of animals, especially horses. And known within his family and friends to have a green thumb.
He is survived by his wife Lucila Fernandez of Sealy; sister Iluminada Fernandez of Cuba; children Roberto Fernandez and wife Raisa of Miami, Florida, Edgar Fernandez and wife Yolanda of Miami, Florida, Angel B. Fernandez and wife Felicia Fernandez of Sealy, Osmar Fernandez and wife Nery of Miami, Florida; grandchildren Sady Fernandez of Miami, Florida, Bobby Fernandez and wife Margie of Round Rock, Roberto R. Fernandez of Miami, Florida, Angel L. Fernandez and wife Courtney of Brookshire, Osmarito Fernadez of Miami, Florida, Edgarito Fernandez of Miami, Florida, Livan Garcia and wife Yadelin of Miami, Florida; great-grandchildren Eliz Mary Uribazo, Davi Kaelum Fernandez, and Ava Katherine Fernandez.
He was preceded in death by his parents Domingo and Enedina Fernandez; brother Efrain Fernandez; sisters Alicia Fernandez, Nora Vasquez, Erlinda Fernandez.
The family would like to extend special thanks to all friends and family members for their love and support during his time of illness.
